Would be very interested in getting feedback from those who already using this version of Bet Angel?

Improved refresh rates are my top priority.

Thansk in advance. :)

Hi Westerner,

Depends where you are trading from. If you are trading from an International location then the VPS is excellent. I trade from Latin America. Without running BetAngel through the VPS my response time are around 700, with the VPS they are around 40.

If you are trading from the UK then I’m not sure if the VPS will improve things too much.

Thanks Ali,

I'm trading from the UK but if I consistenly get refresh rates above 350 like I've been getting today then I'll need to sort something out

Cheers!

Hi
Dont forget; the refrsh times you see at the bottom fo the Betangel screen are the connection time between BetAngel and Betfair...it does not include the connection time from where you are trading to the Betangel server...so you need to take that into consideration too..

Very good point Peter,

The response time numbers are therefore a very good indicator but the true test should be the difference of how it feels with the vps and without the vps.

For me, trading internationally using the VPS it’s like using BetAngel on speed.

Hi Peter,

I didn't understand what you meant when you posted your last reply but now that I've signed up to VPS I'm guessing thats why my computer seems delayed!

I'm typing this message and the words are coming up half a second later :(

When you use a VPS what is happening is that the VPS is executing the order and as it is so near to the Betfair server it appears very quick however that information still has to travel from the server to your home pc.

So you may get for example a response time of 40ms between the VPS and Betfair

but

then there is the response from your PC to the VPS which depends upon many factors.

Thanks Andy (it's MI by the way)

I think I get it now!

I guess my internet connection is still affecting things but I'm in a better position now than I was.

All the best (shame to see your blog go).

Took me a while to figure out what you meant there. Good to see you around still! Hope the trading is going well.
