I would appreciate it if anyone here would be kind enough to offer me some advice.

I intend to use Bet Angel to submit in running lays.

I have used Bet Angel before for this, but I noticed two issues.Although I purchased a 50' Plasma to enable me to spot distress signals from a horse as quickly as possible I found that I was losing time in looking up from my pc to my tv and back again before I executed a trade.

I have decided to run two 25' monitors from my pc[one with bet fair prices the other with pictures from my tv[I have Sky and use RUK/ATR pictures].I would appreciate it if anybody could tell me how do I transfer the pictures from my tv onto my pc monitor ?

Although I have a reasonable spec pc[# Intel Core i7-860 processor
# (2.8GHz, 8MB Cache)
# Genuine Windows(R) 7 Home Premium 64-bit
# 6GB DDR3 memory
# 1TB hard drive]
My broadband connection is 3 meg[The best I can get in my area].Do you think if I was to use Bet Angel's virtual server it would speed up bet acceptance[At the moment prices frequently disappear before I am able to match them].

I would appreciate any help on these issues. Thanks for your time.

Chances are the VPS might speed things up a little but I think the main reason the prices are vanishing before you can get them is because you are using very delayed pictures compared to the people using SIS/Turf Tv and those on course.

Have a watch of this video Peter did and it shows how far behind you are:

The VPS may save you a few milli seconds but you are about 3 to 4 seconds behind the guys with the faster feeds and even further behind the oncourse guys. Trying to trade i/r using the RUK/ATR pics is possible but hard.

Also as you are using a 50" screen you are probably having to sit a long way from it. I find a 20" screen mounted next to my PC screen is fine and also removes the step of putting the pics onto the PC which will slow things further for you.

Thanks for the reply Andy.Would I be able to run my plasma TV and a tv monitor simultaneously from my sky box ?

I appreciate what you are saying about delays from atr/ruk but I feel that having done this for the last couple of years my race reading skills have improved to the extent that they compensate for the delay.

Your vps won't improve the time your bets take to get into the system unless you are an international trader. All it will do is make it feel quicker. You still have to get the data between your computer, to the vps, then onto betfair, back onto the vps, back to your computer. So while your vps is showing very quick updates, you have added another step in there.

3MBps should really be enough to trade with. I haven't really noticed any difference from when I went from 1.5, up to about the 4.5-5 I can get now. Subtle difference sure, but certainly isn't 3* as good, for trading anyway, as most, if not all will simply fit down 1.5 line anyway. The most important thing about it, is your ping time to the server. Generally that is affected by your ISP more so than your home connection I believe.

As for the part I quoted, if you plan on having the same pictures on both tvs then yes it can be done. Get yourself an AV wireless sender. It will pick up the signal and send it to another tv. Before I got my second box, I had 1 in the loungeroom, and traded from my bedroom. Has a little IR for the remote also, so you can take the remote with your receiver, and it is like the box is in front of you.

Of course, that will only work if you want the same pictures on both tvs. (Sky only, of course you can put whatever channel you want on any other format, just the sky box will be controlled by 1 remote, and same picture for both).

Depends on your sky box. Does it have 2 outputs or just 1 ?

If it only has 1 there are several other solutions you can use:

1) Get sky multiroom ( http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/s ... iroom?cl=2 )

2) get a wireless transmittor to send the signal of your sky box to both your tv's.

3) get a swith and cables to switch your box between your two tv's.

Depending on the length of wire you will need 3 is the cheapest solution and 1 is the nicest solution.
