Here is your answer I suspect:

From: Betfair Customer Services 05 Oct 14:16

Our General Rules state that “in the interests of maintaining integrity and fairness in the markets we may, at our sole and absolute discretion, decide to suspend betting on a market earlier than anticipated by the Betfair Rules and/or void certain bets or a market in its entirety.”

So please be aware that we are doing the following in relation to the Prix de l’Abbaye market:

The win market will have all unmatched bets cancelled, including “keep” bets. We will be voiding all bets after the off time of 14:23:57 (CET). The market will then be reopened, with all pre-race bets standing.

All unmatched bets will be cancelled in the Place and A v B markets, and the markets reopened.

Just saw this: -

"Regarding the 2.45 @Meydan. If race is re-run all pre-play bets will stand but Fox Hunt shall be declared NR & Rule 4 will apply."

It's scandalous, they just want to keep bets open rather than risk people not placing new ones. It's just outright greed. No fairness at all.

From your trading view point won't it just keep your green the same? If they apply the RF your back and lay bets will all have it applied so it will basically remain the same for you?

For straight punters I can see why they would want it voided. trading wise where people greened up PR I don't see an issue.

I'm not concerned about the trading aspect, just the fairness of it. Betfair can make an easy decision hack off customers again with a bad decision or take a small hit and please everybody.

What happens with the SP will be the interesting thing.

I think it is only punters that are being put out this time as the race is a totally different thing now, it has been part run so horses aren't as fresh and the make up of the race has changed.

From a trading view point people I doubt are fussed.

I agree though they should just reopen the market as a new one.

William Hill:

If 2.45 Meydan is re run all horses that don’t participate will have stakes voided. Rule 4’s applied to n/r. All bets stand on the remainder

I can't see how bookies can do this, the horses have half run the race. It's a poor show from the bookmakers, it can only be driven by not wanting to lose those bets.

From the Racing Post:

Some bookmakers are standing their bets, while others are voiding. Paddy Power made their position clear by tweeting: "Bets on original race are void so if you are looking to have a bet, you will have to place them again."

Coral's position is all bets stand, while the firm will refund all bets placed on Fox Hunt. A rule 4 will apply on all bets placed.
