Guardian - Racing Australia 31/3
yep, something is not right. for the last 5 races the ladder had no prices or any info displaying at all. on both modes 0 and 1.
i suspect its good old betunfair and their wonderful systems at fault.
it seems ok now, if you put clock forward not 2 bad, but don't trust it.
I wish i was not going through a bout of insomnia, most of the races are like trading dog races with about twice the normal volume (not a dig at the quality of aussie horse racing, just the lack of volume).
better than the telly i suppose.

that explains a lot. so have they jumped the gun?jmcole wrote:Daylight savings ends tonight at 2.00 am in Vic, NSW and SA. For some reason Betfair have adjusted the time from 2:00 pm. Other states will probably change at 2:00 pm their local time. Perth is currently 3 hrs behind the eastern states.
Sorry if that was confusing, but its difficult to explain due to different time zones and some states not observing daylight savings.
In short, states with daylight saving should adjust the clock back 1 hour at 2.00 am tonight. Betfair have done this early at 2.00 pm this afternoon. Therefore, the countdown clock is generally (not always) showing as 1 hour remaining to the start of the race at the scheduled start time.

That makes a lot of sense, something for the notebook.jmcole wrote:Daylight savings ends tonight at 2.00 am in Vic, NSW and SA. For some reason Betfair have adjusted the time from 2:00 pm. The other "bizarre" thing about what happened though was that Betfair added one hour to the time from 2 pm, rather than subtracting one hour.
So, it was a double stuff up, wrong implementation time and incorrect time shift.
This also impacted certain functionality on the betfair website during Australian time.

nothing bizarre at all. just betunfun practising a new cockup they have probably just thought up. they were testing this new cockup to see how effective it will be in the real world, and how many and too what extent it will piss their customers off.gazuty wrote:The other "bizarre" thing about what happened though was that Betfair added one hour to the time from 2 pm, rather than subtracting one hour.
