Now that was a penalty.

But Benfica should have done their homework, because even if Cole was clean through he would have blasted it wide.

Will be interesting to see how Chelsea react to the goal. It would make sense to sit deep now and defend well, looking for the odd chance. I don't think they should push up, it's a long way back for Benfica from this point.

It was a penalty indeed. No doubt about that. When Benfica started to play like Benfica the red card killed the game.. Unlucky..

A great big round of applause to Benfica. They honored this game as a great team.

Benfica has played very well in the group stage but was too defeatist last week, as if they did not want to go through. If I had too choose, reluctantly, for the benefit of spectacle, I have to choose an English side...

I have almost feel sick after I wrote this.....
Totally agree, how does Messi get away with such bad penalties. They are banned. You cannot pause to see which way the goal keeper goes, no way. It's outrageous, scandalous - absolutely unbelievable.

When Benfica started to play like Benfica
It's an honour that you know the meaning for those words.

Imho, one gets a feeling that Benfica could have thrown out Chelsea if some details were in the proper place.

Now, and the Chelsea supporters please don't get me wrong, but I think that the way Chelsea play like, Barça will run past them like a train.

Thank you caerMy.

Benfica did not show up on the 1st leg and that was costly. If R.Abromovich will stop forcing coaches to make F.Torres play, with over 10 days ahead, I think Chelsea can regain some stenght and right attitude by the time they meet Barcelona.
Chelsea can also count on the fact that they will defenately play their best @ Stamford Bridge, something that either AC Milan and Benfica were uncapable to do at home.
The biggest mistakes of Teams when they play against Barcelona is worry too much about stopping L. Messi. This means that teams consume too much energy and run in vain only to achieve one purpose in the game . If John Terry will be available he will hold flawless the line of defense . If you watched the game last night after 60' minute Chelsea defence showed uncertainties, that was after John Terry left the pitch. I think the key of the game will be, as usual, D.Drogba. He will break through the weak defense of barcelona and drag the whole team in a high positive mood as he did against Napoli. The only question is if R.Abromovich would allow the exclusion of F.Torres in favor of the Ivorian.

Any hints on today's match?

Imho, this will be a great match, it's really rare to have such a leveled match. I'll be only trading it live, expecting big swings on the odds, let's see how it turns out. Good luck to all.

I find this match very difficult to unpick and can't really offer much advice other than make a decision when it's underway. I won't be trading tonight, but I will be around tomorrow.

Think Bayer can do the trick today, but Real are great contenders. 'El Clássico' in the weekend can make Real even tighter than usual. Let's see...

Is it just me, or do Barcelona seem a little short at 1.73 to beat Chelsea? So far at least, Chelsea are holding their own, and have had a couple of decent chances.

I reckon Chelsea will do OK, but they would need a miricle to beat Barca. Barca do seem to be bossing the game a bit at the moment.
