Hi, long term Betfair user but new to BA and excited to use it. Been using it for a couple of days and it is excellent. I have watched all the videos, read the manual and have a good idea of what I am trying to do but I am struggling already with a few controls. I have a few questions about that:

1. I have set some one click trading settings and saved them as "horse racing", "back the server" and so on. However, when I re-select the settings the stakes have re-set to £2 on the back stake & lay stake columns. Any ideas?

2. How do you create a custom column? I have set the custom settings for the custom columns I want but I can't get them to appear on the trading screen. Probably something stupid I'm doing wrong - can you help?

3. How can I make "keep in play" a default setting? I want to be able to do pre event keep bets at prices away from the current market. Is the ladder useful for that? I like the one click trading screen at the moment and would like to be able to do everything from there.

Would it be OK if I come back with other questions as they occur? I can understand why there is no "live Support" on the telephone but it is tricky when you trying to work it out on your own so any help is really appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

This is not my area of expertise but I am sure someone will be along to help. The first problem sounds like a bug...unless you have have a check mark in the box where it says "Back All" "Lay All" as this will override the stakes.

Are you on the latest 1.30.5 version? I seem to recall it fixed a similar issue to the one you mention.

Also, be careful about keeping all bets. I am not certain if that can be made a default but as I said that is not my area of expertise. What I can tell you is it is very easy to leave a bet in the market and not notice it because you have multiple bets and positions. If that happens and you miss it then keeping it in play could give you a headache. It may not happen very often but when it does you could expose yourself to unnecessary risk.

Hi

1. In the Setting menu there is a staki9ng tab.
£2 is usually the default value here, it can be change to anything you want but this will apply in all relevant screens unless as JG says you overide with the back all or even Auto stake.

2. Never changed the columns myself but I believe you have to save as a 'named' display layout or grid layout?

3. I don't think you can make Keep In Play as a default, can only do manually in the Un matched bets area. As JG says though be careful, usually goes against you unless you are on the ball.

ba vid on custom columns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCn6rPqR ... plpp_video

if your new to ba, your best bet is to spend some time on you tube betangeltv page. there are lots of vids on setting up ba, guardian, tennis trader etc. and read the pdf as well.

I have made some progress and am starting to get the hang on setting it up to suit me so thanks for the replies

So I have:

one full monitor screen for one click/ladder/manual bet screens with charts, in play trader - very sweet

one monitor with unmatched bets, charts and anything else II don't need on main screen like select market all pinned

This is excellent - when I get good at the set ups it will be superb.

Question: Is it possible to have the off set bet stake different to the initial bet stake? Say I backed £100 at 2 ticks below best current price could I then stipulate greening say 5, 7, 10 ticks below that? As a one click I mean, without using global setting?

Ah, maybe just switch off global settings? Hmm.. thinking

thanks guy
