I hate to say it, but United might be a value lay to win the Premiership at 1.25!
If tonight's result means that City are now firing on all cylinders again, then we can't afford too many more performances like this evening's!

United's Fixtures - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/tea ... d/fixtures
City's fixtures - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/tea ... y/fixtures
The gap is currently 5 points. It's quite possible City will win at home against United, which would mean that if United drew one of their remaining games and City won all theirs, then City might edge it on goal difference. I therefore suspect that the market may have overestimated United's chances, given that the implied odds are about 80%.
Do you think United are worth a lay at those odds?

Man Utd is currently @ 1,47 to win the premier league. If Man City won today, will that figure raise up? Man City have won more then 4 consecutive games in the past so they can do it this time. They won 16 games out 17 @ home. This is a stuggering result. Newcastle may be the most difficult opponent until the end. If Man utd won against City they will not just secure the title but also it will break Man city record on their home ground.
If Man city won't do it they have lost nothing, If Man Utd won't do it they lose the title. If think Man city have less pressure and that can be a very favorable factor to win the title.

I'd say City possibly have greater pressure on them. Despite their owners having spent something like 250 million pounds on players over recent years, they've won something like 2 trophies in the past 50 years. By contrast, Man U have won loads of titles in recent years, so yet another Premiership title isn't such a big deal for them.enzabella2009 wrote:If think Man city have less pressure and that can be a very favorable factor to win the title.

Today Man Utd vs Everton ended 4-4, so man utd supporters saying that the title is not a big deal for them. Very strange way to turn things around when is most convenient.
Man City have nothing to lose despite the heavy investiments. Man utd are the title holders and for the world wide fans they must play their best to retain the title. Man Utd is the richest club in the world for many years, if they wanted retain the world leading position they must keep winning titles. I don't think Man utd bosses seeing things same way of yours Jeff. They don't want lose the title.
If you keep denying that Man Utd is not the richest club in the world here below you find an official reminder of the real facts.

Saying that an other premiership title isnt that big deal for Man utd, it's an understatement of yours. Every titles contribute of the history making of the club. . They used to be 1st supported team in the world but, as soon as Barcelona started to win , with a much lower budget to begin with, they have dropped to 2nd position in the world.

I don't know how that page defines 'rich', but it's pretty meaningless considering that City or Chelsea can outspend us many times over without breaking sweat. Barcelona and Real Madrid quite possibly could too. Why do you think Man U have only one decent defender (Vidic)?enzabella2009 wrote:Man Utd is the richest club in the world for many years.

you keep claiming that Man Utd are not one of the richest clubs when they clearly are:
2011/12 transfers:
Phil Jones £17m
David De Gea £18.9m
Ashley Young £17m

Did I? Where? I'm sure all I contested was the claim that they are the wealthiest...superfrank wrote:you keep claiming that Man Utd are not one of the richest clubs
Whilst Chelsea and City can buy pretty much whoever they want, United have to increasingly rely on Fergie's ability to spot a player with talent that hasn't yet been fully realized, like he did with Ronaldo, Chicarito and many others...

Manchester United are way down the table when it comes to spending: http://www.transferleague.co.uk/league- ... -2011.html
