Practice mode is certainly useful, but more than once I wished there was a balance being updated, because that's the way to observe some effects. Example: Bookmaking, once I tried (for real because all went smooth in practice mode) to green up after launching a bookmaking and it made quite a mess because it needed to use the bank to do that. I didn't know it and it cleared of my bank which was too small for the occasion and therefore the greening made a mess... so lost money and didn't understand. I only understood why that greening worked in practice mode but didn't for real.
I also do things in excel which rely on the bank update to know for certain whether I won or lost.
greyhound market, us horse market which don't go live, I'd only know the result automatically by monitoring the balance... and plenty of other cases where a running balance would be useful.

a balance in practice mode
You can export the P&L using automation in practice mode to see how you performed on the day. This is the closet thing to a balance we can achieve.
Watch the video here to see how to do this: -

It's really difficult for us to implement a true balance because we would somehow need to get the results and implement a full settlement system. Betfair don't expose a resulting process via the API or adequate information quickly enough to allow a balance to be carried forward real time, which is why we can't currently implement this feature request.
