In order of strength these are the 3 teams to beat: Spain, Holland and Germany. Italy maybe is the fifth or sixth strongest. If we saw the successes of the Italians must be confident that Italy always gives you the unexpected surprise. Roberto Mancini has won the Premier League, Roberto Di Matteo has taken Chelsea from the ashes and went to win the FA Cup, the Champions league and qualifying for the champions league next year. Carlo Ancelotti was appointed manager of PSG on 30th december 2011 after a disastrous campaign of the previous manager and despite everything he managed to take PSG only 3 points behind the winner Montpellier and qualifying for the Champions League next season. Not to mention the Premier league and the Fa cup with Chelsea. Luciano Spalletti has won for the second consecutive year, the Russian league. Trapattoni has brought Ireland to the Euro 2012 and so did Capello by beating all previous records in four years as England manager. Obviously this is not enough to win but at least it leaves me a shred of hope that Italians can win euro2012..

List of teams I would love see winning insted: England, Ireland and Portugal.
List of teams I would like not see winning: Spain, Germany, Holland and France.
All other teams I don't mind.

I think Spain are overrated this year. Both Bracelona and Madrid looked a bit lost in their respective semifinals in the Champions league. The players are looking very tired, and I don't think they still have the same hunger to win this year.

Italy will probably draw against Spain, but they were lucky to get a draw twice against Ireland and got well beaten by us last year. I fancy Ireland to beat them again this year. Croatia are playing very well and are extremely underrated. They are also a top ten team, and I think they deserve this rating more than Italy does. I'm going for my big hitter and saying Croatia and Ireland to qualify from group C.

England and Sweden should be a no brainer from their group.

Germany group: Portugal seem to suffering from the same as Spain a few years ago...loads of incredible players but not able to play well together. They were very lucky to qualify for the playoffs, and even luckier to make it so far. Holland in theory are also good, but they got destroyed by Germany a few months ago, with a full strength team on the pitch. I think they might slip up again and leave Denmark to slip in beside Germany.

Finally, Group A should see Russia and Poland qualify.

Prediction for top 4:Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden

Croatia and England are outside bets. Ireland to win overall of course...... :P

What about Greece? OK, it's not very likely to happen, but they've done it before, and it just what they need to lift their spirits right now!

I thought England played pretty well tonight. Norway weren't great, but England looked comfortable right from the start

looks like Barry might be ruled out with injury. he's Ok against moderate opposition but was badly exposed against Germany in wc2010.

hopefully Jagielka will get in now. a really good pro, solid defensively and scores goals too.

Well England won 3-1 against the rest of the world so the rest of Europe should be easy now ;)

Wish I'd seen this sooner - england are set to drift on the winners market, will-hill is offering 17 on england outright and there is still an arb out there from betfair to will hill which should see the price drift out to 16 minimum (if I'd seen this earlier when the price was more like 13 I would've posted but I had a heavy night and wasn't sitting infront of my computer  ) You could either take the trade on the drift or arb it.

I think it will now come down to passion as to wether the young guard really want to make something of thier chance or not.

I do wonder if expectations have ever been lower and England have ever had a worse build up to a major tournament?
