Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

We are very quick to be critical of Italian football, and some of the farcical draw prices towards the season's end, but has anyone tried trading this market?

The draw is 1.31 having been 1.18

Celta Vigo need a point for automatic promotion, Cordoba need a point to secure a play-off spot. I'm surprised the draw is so low though, as Spanish football hasn't had corruption issues like Italy

This is one I'll say about English football. It's not perfect, not by any means, however our mentality is to win matches, we'd never see a draw trading at 1.31, regardless of the circumstances

Hi Im not a football guy ,so when you say they need a point each is it fair to think that they will both score but end up a draw ??

Well spotted, it's the volume leader as well.

There are loads of ways to trade this for some profit.

Here is a simple one for you

Lay the draw at 1.28 (say £100) give a liability of £28

Back 0-0 at 2.88 for £18, this will cover the LTD if it ends 0-0 and a small profit. (You can increase this if you like)

If there is a goal you would need to back the draw to get a "green" for 1.69 to make enough profit to cancel out your cover bet on 0-0.
Any more than that and you make a profit.

So will the draw be over this price if the game is 1-0 or 0-1?
You make up your own minds. and use your own stakes.

There will be plenty of occasions during the match to trade out.

Thanks mugs .
im laying the draw,im working on a 1-1 or 2-2 result ,so im also backing cordiba at 30/1 ,just in case they score first ,its all low risk high return so ill give it a bash.if it works out ,great,if not its not a big liability, have fun guys ,which ever way you go.correct1-1 score is now even money so im banking on that .

Just saw this now, with an hour to kick off there's 11 grand trading on Celta Vigo, 1500 on Cordoba, and 52 grand on the draw!

Just looked at the stats - 44mins gone and not a single shot from either team

I'm disappointed, I've never seen Spanish football in the same light as Italian. Clearly I was wrong

All the fixed odds bookmakers stopped taking bets, which suggests unusual betting patterns. I'm sure the match will be reported to the governing bodies, but invariably we hear no more

0-0 Draw

I'm a little shocked

Is anyone aware of past Spanish matches being highlighted as potential fixes?

What if the organisation is bigger then we think. What if those criminals have no more power on italian games because under the spotlight and they may have forced some of the spanish clubs to fix games? Those criminals may have been looking for the next weak link and they may have found in the spanish segunda league...It's just a theory though....I remember 3-4 years ago spanish athletes have been accused of using some kind of drugs to perform better but it was all swept under the carpet..In Italy there is corruption everywhere at the moment but at least it's all under investigation..I would love to see what the outcome will be this time and if the spanish will recieve the same sht and deserved treatment we have recieved by the press...

Spain is in 'total emergency' according to their PM, and I'd expect to see a rise in corruption cases as the economic situation worsens and more people turn to crime to make ends meet...
