Good shot, but you would have thought it should have been blocked or saved.

for the a couple of mins in the build up to the French goal England were just clearing it straight back to them and Young and Welbeck standing too far upfield and too isolated.

just hoping England don't go negative in the second half like normal. maybe bring another midfielder on because we look outnumbered in there at times.

also think England need to take a few shots and test their keeper - the goal was our only on target effort. Stevie G used to score some fabulous goals from outside the box but never seems to have a shot these days.

How have we not been awarded a free kick for some of these fouls?

Happy with the performance tonight. We are never going to be the most exciting team. But I think we were solid. Better than in recent times.

We are hard to beat, that is the secret of winning big tournaments.

The French looked well organised and potentially dangerous. The English looked well organised.

That sums it up perfectly
Hopefully Rooney will change that

i thought England looked dangerous whenever we got in a decent position - the problem is that it was only about 3 times in 90 mins.

Joe Hart looked shaky. Nasri side-footed that goal from 20 yards into the near post.

thought he might have tried Carrol for 20 mins to hold the ball up and for set pieces. Milner looked knackered.
