Plenty of real money about today though.

I wonder if all races were on RUK and the effect on volume whether the levy would be substantially higher?

Finding it rubbish here.

I am not convinced it is RUK that makes the difference you are talking about but more the tracks RUK have which tend to be the better quality ones.

Flip the track roster over between ATR and RUK and I am not sure you would see much difference.

The audience figures from memory are much higher on ATR than RUK I guess due to the additional subscription fee of £240 a year. Also I would think those that watch RUK watch ATR so I am not convinced it is the channels that make the difference but more the tracks each has.

You may well be right there. Though I do think the longer previews you get on RUK (and actually showing the horses rather than go compare adverts) do help

I did some analyse on 432 vs 415 and I always do better on 432 on average. Mainly for the reasons HG has stated.

The thing with today and with this month in general so far is that the market feel much more volatile than they should. Also quite a bit of manipulation going on, but I note today he has got into a lot of trouble. It's been a strange month so far.

been very volatile today!!

Pull up a pre race graph for most of the runners and they are all over the place!

I agree, it's been like it for most of the month for some reason. It could be the weather bringing out different activity or thinning the markets. I know a favourite backer who is really struggling to pick any winners at the moment. Seems there are quite a few upsets out there at the moment.

Dodged a few bullets today!

RUK is the only platform that is any use for IR , so the volumes and therefore the levy would be better served if the majority of racing was on RUK.

i had a shocker yesterday (sat). just couldn't get to grips with things. normally you get a feel for the markets on any given day but not for me yesterday.

i think the dodgy ground might have had something to do with it.

agree that RUK is much nicer - better racing, better pundits, reasonable delay, few ads, and Lydia's t*ts!

I managed to keep my nose pretty clean for once yesterday. Its been the worst month for me I've probably ever had! Mainly due to my shocker of an ascot week though.

Bad day, bad week and bad month so far. In fact the worst month in 6 years. As many others are struggling I take some confidence from that.

Still, I feel for the countless small businesses that will go out of business due to the dire summer.

I have been trading for 2 years now (full time since march). Last Wednesday was my best day ever and the week just gone was my best week ever :D . It's strange how different it can be for us!
