Just heard the summary on Racing UK and things look pretty grim at the moment. Kempton are confident they can beat the weather but the clerks at some of the other turf courses were pretty downbeat.

Total of 12 cards, three off, one unlikely, eight remain.

3 Irish, 5 UK (4 If you include the unlikely)

Are called off races in a day full of fixtures necessarily a bad thing for traders?

If you have (say) 20 races a day separated by 10 minute intervals vs 40 races a day separated by 5 minute intervals, surely highly liquid markets will be available for the same amount of time in total?

Regards

I personally hope quite a few meetings are off - particularly the poorer quality meetings. I think there is too much racing on on Boxing Day for a good days trading as they clash throughout the day - at least 5 meetings cancelled for me please.

Market Rasen, Wetherby, Towcester and Sedgefield have all been called off.

Irish racing is fully intact as are Huntingdon, Wincanton, Wolverhampton and Kempton.

Down Royal gone, so half the card remains.
