I have been playing around with excel quite a long time but coding this is driving me up the wall and around the bend!

I am almost at wits end and if some kind soul can help me figure it out, I guess I am prepared to pay some cash for some help.

I just want to lay the first favorite horse given a countdown time. Let's say 15 mins. I have tried almost a lot of things and I just cannot figure out why it cannot do what I am requesting it to do.

Message me here if you have any interest. Thanks.

Hi Cougar

Have you had a look at the BetAngel Auto Trader V2 excel file. Its in the sample spreadsheets in the Excel forum.

Not sure if it will do what you want, but worth a look. It has a timer and you can set up lay options on specific horses.
Also it may give you an idea on how to code something for yourself.

Hi flyingcougar,
Good news - you don't necessarily need excel to do this. Simply create an Automation Rule:

General:
Rule Name: "Lay Fav" (any name you wish to assign)
Rule Type: Place a Lay Bet
Rule Trigger Times:
Select the radio button 'Relative to Event start time'
Arm Trigger at: 00:15:00 Before Even Start Time
Until 00:00:00 Before Even Start Time
Allow rule to trigger 1 time
Applies to selection: by Position sorted in order of Favoritism

Parameters:
Place at: Best Market Price (or you can ask for price if you wish)
Stake: x (enter your stake here)

Click Apply and Save your rule.

This video should help you:

You might want to add a rule to 'Green All' at off. And you can then apply the rule to a few selected or all markets in Guardian.

Hi Switesh,
I think I made a mistake in saying Lay. It should be Back at 1000/first favorite odds.

Hiya,
I can help you with excel if you still need it. I have written a fully automated trader that will trade all day, every day, so I also know the pitfalls and stuff to auto trading.

I have been a programmer for over 25 years now, so coding isn't a problem.

Oh, and don't pay for coding advice.. keep your money to trade with once you get it going.
