Has anyone traded in a hotel room or a hotel lobby with a Wi-Fi connection?

Is it safe?
Is it reliable?

Hi
I traded from my Spanish hotel each morning when we were on holiday in the summer...although it was only for 30 mins each day (i was just setting up my auto programs on the VPS)...worked fine..In fact it was one of my best weeks trading this year

To be honest I'm not sure that it is 100% safe as I guess someone could (in theory) connect to your laptop??

I lost the connection a few times but it reconnected automatically...would be a bit hesitant trading near to the off..

I've used WiFi all over the world but the quality does vary quite dramatically so I don't think you can rely on it being consistant. I once checked into a hotel because they advertised high speed broadband access only to find that it was one high speed router shared out around 300 odd rooms, not impressed.

Overall my best solution has been to use a VPS when working out from another location as at least I then have consistantcy and a stable connection to work with even if the local connection is a bit flaky. Because of the lower bandwidth requirement this has worked really well.
