What happens if the horse is being withdrawn just before the start? When does bf adjust the price, during ip or after the race? Or at some other point of time?

Lay bets are adjusted up to 40.0 but not above that. All back bets are adjusted. No bets are adjusted in-running.

Adjustments usually occur after the race unless there is enough time to do the adjustment before the race has started.

Thank you for the answer. First part is obvious, but...

This is what I am not sure about.
Some time ago, I had some working bets on the ladder, and suddenly race started because second favourite refused to load, so they went without him... however the blip managed to collect all my back bets before the market has been turned IP. I immediately closed it with opposing lay bet (we are talking about 2-3 seconds - that's how long everything happened). When they adjusted the price, I ended up with a large loss. And this is what I do not understand: should I have manually adjusted closing lay bet, to account for reduction factor (how to calculate it) or as they adjusted back bets, lay bets should have been adjusted too?

If you opened a position before the off, but closed it inplay then you could end up with a horrible position.

They will adjust the before the off bet, but not the inplay one. This can vary depending on what is withdrawn and how many of them. The most horses I have seen withdrawn in a race is six, believe it or not.

yep, that's what happened, I ended up with very bad position ... what was even worse, the horse won, so I guess, they reduced my back bet, but did not reduce the lay bet, thus a large loss... I panicked a bit, should have trusted my common sense and assume that if it was a second favourite, then a deduction could be around 20% (could have been anything to be honest) and put a back bet of that amount (correct me if I am wrong). The software does not green up correctly in these situation, because there is no way it can detect very late withdrawal. I was p...ed off that my working orders have been filled as they were about 20 prices from the the top of the market, but this was not the first time it happened recently so I just started cancelling bets earlier than just waiting till the very moment they start.
Thank you once again for explanation, very helpful.
