I'm looking at changing my mobile tarrif so I get a load of internet included, in part so I can use the VPS service on my phone without it costing a fortune. I was looking at o2 as they offer "unlimited internet" on some tarrifs but in the T&C's it mentions that the internet can't be used for "commercial purposes." I'm just wondering if trading would count as commercial. I'd guess it wouldn't as it,s fundementally just gambling but I don't want to get raped with a load of charges for using BA on my phone.
Also most networks offering umlimited internet have a fair use policy which they state e.g t-mobile is 1gb but O2 don't specify a number but threaten to charge you more if you use to much. Has anyone run into problems with internet useage on their phone related to using BA on their handset? It seems I'd rather take a tarrif with t-mobile and know where I am than risk using "too much" internet with O2 and getting a ridiculous bill one month.
mobile tarrifs
I use three for my mobile with unlimited internet (which is actually 1gb per month), i frequently use more than this and all I get is a text message saying that if I continue to use the internet they may cut my internet access off until the next calender month.
They never charge me though and I phoned customer services and they told me they would never charge me, just that they would cut off my internet access on my phone until the next billing period kicks in, having said that they have never cut me off either.
I drive a taxi at night and I watch at least 30 mins - to an hour of tv on my phone through the bbc iplayer app, so I can imagine that 1 gb is actually quite alot as i dont often get the usage abuse message until very near the end of the month!
Hope that helps

yea thanks. I might change my network to either three or t-mobile then as O2 seem very vague about how much "unlimited internet" is... T-mobile have a similar system where they won't charge you any more if you use over 1GB but may restrict your usage in future. O2 just seem to say if you use more than an amount (which appears to be entirely at their discretion) they will charge you an amouunt, (which again they can choose) without giving any warning. Are their any O2 customers out there who have had a problem with this?? Or is this all just small-print which will only apply if I'm downloading a ridiculous amount of stuff? O2 seems to say the latter but then they would to get me to sign with them
