Will Camelot win?

Asking a horse to go from a true mile to 1m6F is one of the most difficult tasks.

If the opposition is up for it then Camelot has a weakness.

Couldnt beleive the ride - was so obvious he'd get caught in traffic. Jockey must have thought the horse was miles better than the lot of them and didnt count on an improver

poor ride. can't believe he tried to get up the inside. had Barzalona been on his back he'd have surely won.

A poor ride, I kept wondering when he was going to press the button and did. Lots of money buyers got burnt on that one.

I thought it was an awful ride, left it far too late so his turn of foot was always going to be too late. Another few yards and he would have been ahead though. Disappointed for the Coolmore lads, they've put such a huge amount into racing I would have liked to see them get a triple crown.

Not much point in blaming the ride guys. The young Joseph was riding to instructions from his dad; and they absolutely had to hold Camelot up simply because he may have a turn of foot over a distance up to 12f but there was precious little left in the tank at the end (and they knew that would the case). Joseph knew that if he went sooner then Camelot wouldn't stay the distance, so he had no choice but wait til the last moment.

It may have looked as if Camelot was catching the leader near the end but the fact is that he was running at the same pace and the horse in front was slowing down.

With today's breeding program's emphasis on speed over stamina, its almost impossible to breed a triple crown winner.
