any chance you'll get to ask a question?
Well after many calls to broker. registar and Betfair Investor relations (thanks for the tip Euler).. I now have necessary paperwork to attend the AGM tomorrow...fingers crossed.... Superfrank.. I personally dont intent to ask questions, as Im attending to understand and see how the wheels of the AGM work for long term future reference.
I do, however, feel that in future that there should be a 'users/shareholder representative body' with a voice .. how that would work and how possible that would be, I dont quite know yet...but Im quite excited about this little adventure...
I will keep you all posted regarding the outcome...if anyone is interested..
cheers herbie

I may not actually be able to get there tomorrow. My son starts a new school and I really need to be there for him so that will probably make it impossible to get there in time.
All AGM's are pretty similar and consist of: -
Voting on resolutions (Most of this is done in advance now or by proxy, this is the formal bit)
A presentation by management (That's often interesting)
Q&A session
I'd encourage you to ask questions because at most AGM's there are not enough questions and very few probing questions. This is the best part of an AGM in my experience. Management can't hide from an open question.
Before the AGM starts there is a registration reception and drinks and nibbles.
After the AGM everybody hangs around till kicked out and this is your chance to go up and approach the management directly. This is my favourite bit and is often the best chance to really ask some decent questions and get some honest answers. I also asked for a follow up meeting last year and was granted one.
At the end of the day if you float your business and people buy your shares they are now the owners. So I'd encourage everybody to attend AGM's so the management you employ can answer your questions. That's what it's all about at the end of the day.

LONDON, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Olympics mania sapped interest in betting on sports such as soccer and horse racing in recent weeks, online gambling exchange Betfair said on Tuesday, eating into revenues at the company which offers an alternative to traditional bookmakers.
Betfair, set up 12 years ago, said like-for-like revenue adjusted for the impact of regulation was only marginally higher since the start of August against the same period a year before.
That compares with core revenue growth of 13 percent to 91.6 million pounds ($146.7 million) in the three months through July, helped by the Euro 2012 soccer tournament, though the company said its performance was broadly in line with expectations for the year to date, thanks to its strong first quarter.
Before the Olympics, bookmakers had been cautious about the impact of the Games, noting that many of the sports were not big betting markets. That seems to have been the Betfair experience, though punters staked more cash than before on the event.
"We had our best-ever Olympics with over twice as many customers betting on the Games as they did in Beijing," Chief Financial Officer Stephen Morana told reporters on a conference call, referring to the previous Games four years ago, though he conceded activity overall had been hit.
NOT AS EXCITING
"People haven't been betting or watching as much the regular events that are on," he added. "The 2.40 at Redcar isn't quite as exciting as the women's volleyball for instance, so you see a natural cannibalisation from such as amazing sporting events as the Olympics."

At the AGM there was genuine shock and glee from the staff and affiliated people in the room that no questions came from the floor... one woman gave a thumbs up to the woman holding microphone at the back when she wasnt needed... I feel they expected an onslaught regarding the premium charge...
Personally I worked my way around the room talking to some of the board and others....
I got a huge in-site into the workings of the company ... also asking about the place of the trader in the companies future.

just a thought traders mabey you are gonna say im crazy suggesting this but i'll put up anyways and see where it goes.
mabey in the future we could have a group of traders with a represnative. we might be able to contribute a small fee all of us or those who wish to join the group so that when the A.G.M s come around we might have a say on how betfair treat us loyal customers.
its just an idea
Mabey the bet angel team can set this up or come up with a plan if the deem this a good idea.
It would be good to have a share although enough shares might be out of our reach.
