Hello
My name is Peter, and I am new here. I had Bet Angel for a month a while back but couldn't work out how to use it. I am a pensioner so that may be the reason ! I have been on Betfair for a couple of years. I want to get into greening out before races start. Martin form the Betfair school showed a group of us at a day for beginners but it was so quick I couldn't follow it
Any advice, or help would be gratefully accepted. I don't want to make a fortune £250/£300 a week would be wonderful.
Cheers,
Peter
Help Getting Started
Have you watched any of the videos Peter has posted on the Bet Angel TV tab?
Those vids are brilliant for beginners. Follow them with small stakes and then ask for help with something more specific when you encounter issues. Your message is just too vague to answer

Hi,i felt the same and i took the online course with betangel which also supplies you a manual very handy. Then i would sit and spend hours watching the markets. It seemed that everytime i entered a trade in the ladders it turned against me!
But eventually it all comes together am also trading on football now.Although in small amounts. You can use practice forever but i think you react differently when you are staking(small amounts to begin with).
Good luck.

My advice is be very very careful. I have been attempting to earn a living from BA aswell for 8 months and so far things have been up and down to say the least. The biggest problem is greed thinking that the market will continue to shift in your direction when ultimately it may never do. Think small, win small and be safe is the best I can say. I have done this now and am learning now to do it properly and making money. A few further things to remember, people using this forum will not tell you their secrets as it is a big learning curve and they had to learn. Secondly take losses as part of the game plan. If you want to trade pre match or race then stick to that and dont let it go in play, as this will hurt you in the long run. If you want to trade in play learn, learn and then learn again before you do its very quick and upsets can happen in any race or match. Remember you are a trader not a gambler.Use practice mode and watch videos it will give you an insight. Good news is £300 a week should come easily from small trades dont try and get it all in one day, it probably wont happen initially.
There are thousands of markets available each month, so if you are patient and are happy with small gains in each, that's the best way to start IMHO. Don't set targets, or you will try to reach them, make poorer decisions and fail.
It's also better to serve an apprenticeship when trading and not to arrive believing the market owes you a living. It doesn't, it wants to make a living from you.

Thanks for the last two posts. It all makes perfect sense, who would give away the results of their hard work, and why would I expect them to ? I back to lay, and lay on Betfair for small amounts so understand the advice to learn with lesser money, and saying I should be a trader not a gambler makes sense as well. Done the gambling side of it for too long and with too many losses. Could never get that money back, and not looking to. As I said just want to supplement my pension and have a reasonable standard of living.
Thanks again.
Peter
Thanks again.

I have time now to try and do this properly. Videos were suggested, which one ( s ) should I buy ? Is the price quoted per video ?
Any other pointers not covered would be appreciated.
I understand no-one is going to give away well earned secrets but I would like to hear any thoughts that may help an old age pensioner extend his state pension to an amount that would make living enjoyable, and not a constant worry.
Thanks,
Peter.

Half a year ago I tried BetAngel for the first time. I lost the whole deposit on Betfair within 3 days. Even though I'm betting for over 7 years now with a positive ROI of +-9%! How could this happen? Well; BetAngel isn't for bettors, but (logically) traders. The knowledge from betting is only an useful addition.roadcrew wrote:I have time now to try and do this properly. Some weeks ago I buyed another 2 months BetAngel subscription. And I started working in practice mode. Bit by bit I created some kind of plan. For this part my knowledge about betting was very useful. SoccerMystic proved to be a good partner too. With a lot (for the given period) of testing I found out that sticking to that plan was vital, but it was necessary to keep changing it to get rid of some flaws. When the plan was 'finalized' (if that's possible) you test it again. Just to be sure.
From that point on it's vital that you stick to that plan. If you don't you will get ruined in the end and blow up the whole bankroll in just a few days.
This weekend I'm going to try it live with some real money. Not much, just a few coins. I'm going to select some Dutch Football matches based on key-factors I've selected for this plan.
What can you do with this info?
- Try to make a plan based on key-factors.
- Test it, change it, finalize it.
- Test it again.
- Go live with some coins and don't get over greedy if you just earn $20 a week.

I know you will think I am some kind of old lunatic but I am having difficulty with the Global settings. I want " offset bet with greening and trailer stop. " I add these settings but when I place a back bet it is just the basic one. Am I missing something very obvious to activate the knd of bet I want ?
2 questions......
A) Do you have the correct number of offset ticks set? - if the box is blank, then it will not place the desired bet
B) Do you have global settings activated on the one-click screen? (It's a blue wheel underneath the tabs) - if that is crossed out, then the offsets will not be placed
