Sorry I plagiarised a well known phrase but it seemed so appropriate.

I was relaxing in front of the TV, laptop...on my lap :D and just trading a bit pre-race and then laying horses where I felt the price was wrong.

The 3:40 Yarmouth saw Lord Buffhead absolutely smashed in the market, I can only assume it was a tipster horse or the yard was having a punt. All I can offer on top is it must have been the annual Lemmings convention at Yarmouth as they all piled into this horse.

Have any of you ever heard the chat when a supposed gamble starts. "They must know something" is probably the most used phrase. It went into 2.76 which is just plain stupid, I really cannot think what takes hold of some people as they just blindly pile in. This horse won an egg and spoon race off 56 and that was about it. He was racing off 60 today and whilst you could reasonably expect some improvement from a 3 year old that hope is tempered by the fact it's raced 24 times and managed just 3 wins. Sadly too many punters see it's won on heavy ground and assume it must win today and when the money comes they think they're correct.

I wish there was a way to alert some of you when this sort of thing happens but I had to post this because it was such a ridiculous move!

They just did it again in the next race. They backed Darsan as if defeat was out of the question!! It had won ONCE in NINETEEN attempts

He is by Iffraaj who was basically a sprinter and so 1m6f is a lot to ask, especially on heavy ground! It was highly unlikely he would see out this trip so why on earth do people just follow the money in? Were they expecting SDS to win again? Were they simply chasing losses and scribbling "£x win Favourite" on their betting slips?

Pure unadulterated madness

I have backed Darsen and closed twice my position in profit....I did not check every single aspect of the horse but it made me a profit just by following the trend pre race and in play...If they thought this horse was going to win, it's very possible that as soon the horse is in position of winning the race the odds would certainly dropped below 2.2 or more...I understand totally your view but in total fairness Darsen have done quite well on this race considering everything you have mentioned about the horse..It came 3rd like a 1.3 1.5 favorite would come 3rd...

You may have missed my point. What you did was smart, you traded the price and took advantage of the lemmings driving the price down. I was referring to people who were clearly betting this horse, this move was not caused by traders, this was a gamble.

As for the running of Darsan it was pitiful. He was never going to truly stay that trip on desperate ground and he was beaten 2.5 lengths. So trading the race is fine but piling into a horse that wouldn't stay that far in a horse box is crazy!!

Tried that mate! Nobody says thanks for the profit but thousands give you dog's abuse when you give a loser! I didn't give many losers but when I did Armageddon was 1.01!!
