I am surprised with the current weather they haven't rushed this product out

However, we will be reviewing Winners Circle in the months after it goes live and consider evolving the product further.

The markets will be available to trade via the API.

There's no in-play betting because the camera angles don't support in-play. Am I missing something? Surely one of the advantages of virtual racing is that you can create any camera angle you want. Sounds like a missed business opportunity to me and one that could hold the product back.

Its because they are buying a boxed version not a bespoke version.

Cheers

I laid horse number 4 as he was looking a bit coltish. £377 matched on the first ever virtual horse race.

When listening to the commentary all I kept thinking about was the post office.

'And horse. Two. Is in the lead. Closely. Followed. By horse. One'

Was expecting: -

'Cashier number four please' at any moment.

I wonder how much this cost to implement and whether the money would have been better spent elsewhere? £4 matched on the 10:57!!!

I guess it could catch on but I don't see why a punter would bet on something that is just a coin toss really. You can't find an edge at all on the virtual stuff but you can in normal sports markets. I can see why it is appealing to Betfair as they don't need a market ops team to run it and they can put it on whenever they like with little incremental cost.

Volume needs to bump up a little before people can really start to trade it. I shudder at the comments that Betfair may look to seed the market.

Just lost my first £4 on this!
Tried a few speculative bets!
...god it would drive me crazy listening to this all day...
Mind you; Betangel connected fine, as did the excel interface...so never say never!! We just need it to go in play now!

Thinking about it...if I get chance later today, I will knock up a BOT and leave it running overnight...see what happens...
If I move all the P&L into my aus account and just leave say £20 in my main wallet it should be safe shouldnt it>>??

I see what they are doing, trying to get somebody to fill the gaps on the lay side.. creating a dutch under round.

Looks like the bots are out already.

These markets could be very interesting for people wanting to test bots.

1. There are loads of them each day.
2. There are no withdrwn horses
3. They start on time

I think this is the most innovative thing in the market for years, perhaps even since 2000.

Betfair have brought to market a product that's based on artificial intelligence, they're not in this to be the house, and if you look closely are actually saying that they've proven that an effective handicapping strategy can work.

They're providing heaps of form data, and giving guidance with the forecast prices. The forecast prices for short odds horses will be fairly tight, but there's going to be easy value on anything farther out.

Too many people are trashing this, simply because they can't see beyond the cartoon farce in the high street. Seems to me like a few really smart people have twigged that there's are real opportunity here if you develop your own strategy.

If Betfair were looking to mint on this, then they'd have gone the Laddies / WH route.

I really think this is very innovative, and if the luddites can't see this, then it gives me more scope to make a buck for myself.
