First of all thanks Peter Webb for your kind thoughts. I am still stuck in hospital nearly 9 weeks so far but at least I now have a laptop and 3g dongle( this is a wireless modem not a private part of my anatomy). You guys have snow problems and we are suffering under 40 plus heatwaves.
Anyway back to business. I only had the VPS for a few weeks and think it is great. The only problem is the big increase in bandwidth that has occurred for me. This is apparently due to using a few monitors with plenty of graphs open. What would you guys suggest I have open when just trading from a laptop ( in hospital I might say) to keep the bandwidth low as it is quite expensive using 3G mobile.

VPS and Bandwidth and thanks Peter W.
If you just have one screen open then the bandwidth should be quite small. So trade from one screen but perhaps have a very slow refreshing version of Bet Angel open locally for the graphing and other information. That way you get the speed of the VPS but can still view all the other data at a reasonable rate and bandwidth.
Make sure you alter the data usage charge settings to ensure you are well under the 20 calls per second.

Hi Finoh
I admire your spirit - I have traded in some places but never in a hospital!
I travel alot and also trade from a laptop when on the road. It's all down to personal preferences I suppose, but I review the race prior to trading, make a note of the selections and their current prices and focus my trading on just one selection. I open the ladder, then have the Betfair graphs of the 4 highest volume selections on the right of the ladder. Depending on your screen, you will either lose the market prices or a whole ladder for a particular horse.
The downside of this is that you cannot see if an outsider is attacting support, so every now and then toggle to the one click screen and review the prices against the orginal you took prior to trading.
Not sure what data charges this will incurr but you need to weigh the charges against your P&L. Also, I suspect that trading is giving you a mental boost everyday as something to look forward to, if this is the case can you put a price on that?
Whilst restrictive I have found that trading from a laptop can also help to install discipline.
Hope you make a swift recovery and are back trading in a better environment soon.
All the best
