Robson win - 2-6 6-3 11-9

The following graphic shows you when you would have been profitable on Kvitova (above the line) and Robson (below the line).

Whether you backed on laid either player you would have been able to get out with a profit on many occasions. Great trading match!

Any match I trade I export the data from. So this monitored my positions in the market to see what happened to them over the course of the match. This was just the initial position.

You lucky people.

Last night I thought I would have a tentative bash at trading the Federer/Davydenko match and just before the start placed a mere $10 on Davydenko at 16.5 to 'test the water'. 5 minutes into the match and I wanted to close the trade for a small profit and when I hit the lay button I got a message "bet originates from a restricted country". What me??? It seems that Aust Fed law has now decreed that Australian residents are not allowed to bet in play on some markets. Tennis is one of them.
I am just glad I didnt place a much larger back bet on. What annoys me is that I had to search for a warning on the Betfair site regarding this law. Why Betfair couldnt place a highly visible sign alongside their in play data to warn Australians in play is restricted is beyond me. :(

Seymour, correct, there is a federal government imposed restricion on in play sports betting over the internet in Australia. you can ring betfair and get them to close out the trade for you. That is legal for betfair to do.

Or you can rent a vps or use a proxy server to trade out yourself. However, betting licensees have an obligation to seek to prevent people in Australia using the internet to bet on sports in play. So long term betfair might investigate simultaneous access or wonder how you got to the other side of the world so quick. My understanding, but get your own advice, is it not an offence for the user of the service to use the Internet to bet in play, rather the obligation is on the service provider to restrict access.

The law is currently under review. You can make a submission to Senator Conroy.

Love the way academics present data, so complicated when the underlying principle is actually quite straight forward.

Sharapova just destroyed Venus Williams 6-1 in her first set. 1.07 to lay at the moment, not sure Wiliams can find a way back into this one.
