British people will say it's impossible but when I watched the game below I could not sleep for 2 days on how corrupted it looked...I am not saying it was but it raised some real doubts about the result..

Given that time frame, you cant really look past the Chelsea v Barcelona Semi final 2nd leg and the four penalties that should have been given. Preventing the all English final two years in a rowThe fixed Champions League tie in England took place in the "last three or four years"

Saying that its still very hard to collude with all 11 players on one team, sure spot fixing is achievable but the actual result would be dependent on both teams performance.
I think it's far more likely to have been a group game, probably at the end of a group, where one weak team from far away with nothing to play for shipped a loads of goals due to one or two players being bought off, rather than any big games between established teams where the whole teams where involved.
you don't need 22 players to fix a result, and you may only need 1 player to fix certain markets. Red cards for example.
The cricket scandals have shown that if you get to the captain and the opening bowler you can fix certain markets which don't even exist on Betfair.
Chopra is presumably paid very well but couldn't resist trying to noble a horse race.

To be reasonably confident of success, you need more than one player. And those players who are risking their careers and their liberty need to make their mistakes look convincing. Why would they do so when they are living the good life and making over a million pounds a year? It just doesn't make sense...sweetybt wrote:you don't need 22 players to fix a result
Fair comment, but how many players on £50,000 a week are going to take a bung of (say) £50,000 to deliberately foul an opponent and possibly reduce their value on the transfer market (as well as risking a jail term)?sweetybt wrote:and you may only need 1 player to fix certain markets.
