Italy is probably more corrupt than the UK ( superfrank)
I totally agree with the above phrase!!
We are currently working to change that! For many is just an utopia, for us is a dream that may come true!

It's not my definition - we're the rules of the game. From what I've heard, it appears that the referee acted in strict accordance with the rules(even if you think he was over-zealous)

As for whether overhead kicks are against the rules, I'll take your word for it (although AFAIK Rooney didn't make contact with any of the opposition players in Freddy's example, so it's comparing apples with oranges as far as last night is concerned).

Did Rooney make contact with any of his opponents? If not, your comparing apples with oranges and have scored an own goal!

I can't find the albion tackle on Evra which was worse then Nani against albion! Couple more decisions against man utd are hard to find at the moment. I will show you 3 other pictures to show that not only man utd was penalized!!
On the top picture it show something that happened many times in the game, but this time wellbeck was on offside position!
The second picture is offside. it is when the 1st goal was scored! 7-8 times out of 10 the offside is called by the referee..If you see all the referees are in good position to stop van persie for offside position but they did not see it.
On the 3rd picture is 100% penalty. Again is only called by the referee 7-8 times out of 10 and only when the referee actually see it. The behind door referee is useless!!

Because I was tucking the kids up in bed, I missed the incident but heard Adrian Chiles summing up the game at ft and realised there had been a controversial decision. When I watched the incident later, and I saw the referee standing over Nani, it dawned on me that the referee might give a red for it.
A RIDICULOUS red card that ruined what was developing into an interesting game. Poor Lukic, his brilliant goal was completely overshadowed.
All I can say, is I am glad I am not a Man U fan, or had money on the game, I would be gutted.

find me the rule that says you cannot control a high ball with your foot. the other player ran in and challenged Nani while he was in mid-air - what could he do?

if the ball was dropping to the other player while he was stationary, and Nani ran in and challenged him with his foot up then that could be construed as reckless. but that's not what happened. Nani didn't realise he was being challenged until it was too late, and tbf to Nani he tried to pull out so as not to hurt the player.

stop listening to Roy Keane!

No, there was no contact but it was very close, prob only because the city player pulls his head out at the last minute. Could have been deemed dangerous by some.

You said professionals should know the rules,
so i guess spectacular goals like this are thing of the past then ?.

Common sense is all that needed here, whether it says so in the rules or not is all about the intent,

we send players off for a deliberate headbutt, but not for a clash of heads, whats the difference ? ,one action is deliberate attempt to injure a player and one is a simple accident.
What Was Rooney's or Nani's, was there any intent to hurt a player or not. I don't think so .

Manchester United fan calls 999 over Nani's red card
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-no ... e-21687292
He felt the red card shown to the United winger was a crime so called police.

Just watched it again and Nani definately straightens his leg with some force from its bent position.
His foot moves up and away from his body.
Nothing to do wiith physics, he has a kick at him after the initial contact and he thought he could get away with it.
If he wasn't having a go his foot would be falling like the rest of his body.

Shame because it spoiled the game, but there is only one person to balme for that and it's not the ref.

Here's an analogy.

Whilst driving in an area with a 30 mph speed limit, I get caught by a Gatso speed camera doing 35. It might be that I would have been perfectly safe doing 40 in light of the prevailing driving conditions, and it was therefore a victimless crime that I didn't deserve to be punished for. However, I could be criticized for not being sufficiently aware of my surroundings to notice the camera and slow down. Similarly, as Keane indicated, Nani could have avoided giving the ref an opportunity to book him.

I'm pleased to say that the above is an entirely hypothetical example! ;)

BTW, I also think Roy Keane may have a point about it being dangerous play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FHu876CEN4

Onto tonights action

Even though Juventus have drifted, I still fancy them at home to Celtic. No doubt a weakened side, but they are very strong at home & looked a class above Celtic

1.44 on offer now, that's a good price IMO

Both home team tonight have good value! 2,0 for PSG would be nice and 1,5 for Juventus as well!!
I must take the 1,44 though, Juventus usually start very aggressive, It may take too long before the odds will drift to 1,5...Lets see...I may lay a bit Celtic on lower odds, then I back Juventus before start and double back them if the odds will drift in play from 1,5 to 2,0..
Good luck for tonight trading!

I'm just hoping we can finish tonight with a respectable score, if you told me in July we would be in Turin in March for a last 16 tie, lasting longer than Chelsea, Man City (and Man Utd!) I would have laughed at you! With Samaras, anything is possible.
