Have you guys ever wondered if were there an arrest warrent in your name? I have red some stories last night that made me wonder. Is there a free site where you can find that information in the UK? I d like to come back to England next december and next march 2014 for the cheltenham race, I d like to find out before I come back if is there something that will surprise me in unpleasent way. The only thing I can remember is that I left an unfair an unpaid parking ticket. I have sent them my claim to ask to cancel it but I never recieved a respond then I left the country and did not bother to find out anymore...

Due to my job I have to regularly get security checked.
The one you probably require is a “Basic Disclosure” which will cost you £25. This will itemise all convictions, cautions, etc.
Further details can be found at:

Don’t be put off or confused about the fact it says Disclosure Scotland, it covers all UK. Never understood why it says Scotland but if it’s good enough for HMG!
Frank.

What makes you think the police in the UK might want to arrest you?!?
As regards Disclosure Scotland, it will give details of convictions and cautions. However, I wouldn't have thought it would include arrest warrants...
You could always try ringing the British Embassy in Rome, but you might suddenly find the police taking an interest in your affairs if you do...
BTW, I believe that there's an EU extradition treaty which means that if you were wanted by the police here, we'd be able to get you easily. I think that the treaty gives countries so little freedom to refuse extradition that even if the UK wanted to extradite you for spying for Italy, the Italian authorities would have no choice but to hand you over!

I am very tired this week, I have red some storys about a parking ticket not paid and I have started to be paranoid about it!

If you were fined by a magistrates' court for (say) parking on a zebra crossing, and haven't paid up despite repeated reminders, then it's possible there's an arrest warrant in your name (although I could be wrong). However, I think the chances of you ever getting arrested for it are pretty slim...
Have you ever returned to your car and found a lovely yellow bit of plastic on the window, containing a ticket? If you haven't, then you haven't incurred a parking fine.

I had the car on, I was in the car waiting for someone to come down from her flat, I was not parked in any place where I could get penalty points, was a parking space with the charge to pay. The parking officer saw me in the car and started to issue the ticket but her machine jumped. Then she started to write on a piece of paper the details of the license plate. When I got out of the car I asked the parking officer to let it go as I was leaving and that she had a broken machine so she could not get me a ticket. She said not to worry and she let me go. After several weeks I have received the fine, almost double of what she told me back then, with much surprise. So since I had a witness to the incident, I went directly to the office (I think was lewisham or near by and I complained about the incident. The parking officer denied the incident after being contacted by someone in the office and denied about her machine problem. I then had to follow the steps I have started to compile a complain forms signed by the witness, but I never received a response .. so I went back to Italy and I did not worried about the story anymore!Ferru123 wrote:If you were fined by a magistrates' court for (say) parking on a zebra crossing, and haven't paid up despite repeated reminders, then it's possible there's an arrest warrant in your name (although I could be wrong). Now that I am dreaming to come back for holiday, I came across some storys that made me concern a bit!
Don't worry about it giulio, unless you're also involved in drugs or prostitution
In fact, if they do track you down, just say you're claiming asylum - not only will they rip up the parking ticket, but they will also give you a new car to drive

However in Italy is pretty much the same! Italian citizen waiting the council houses for years and having little rights then any foreigners that asks for asylum get the house straight forward plus they get paid!
