Is there cross-matching on football markets?

Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if there is cross-matching on simple 2 runner markets on football?

The obvious example is over and under 2.5 goals, say. If I back under 2.5 goals, it's the same as laying over 2.5 goals.

Does anyone know if Betfair automatically ensures you're getting the best price on these markets, or do I need to scan both sides and place my bet on the better one?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
yes XM ( cross matching) is present on the football markets.
If you google cross matching betfair there is a really good example where Betfait BDP team explain how it works step by step.

I've placed a lot of bets on the U2.5 goals market in recent times and have'nt noticed one instance of any being cross-matched when it was possible.Yesterday,I clicked on the U2.5goals back button for odds of 1.39 too quickly before spotting that 3.5 was available on the lay side of the O2.5goals;those odds remained there 8 seconds later when I was matched at the 1.39,and that's happened on innumerable occasions.
