'wonder if someone can help me.. I was trading odds in the 1645 race at Musselburgh yesterday(30/3/2013)-£50 bet (& lay) on Galician - when Befair suspended the market (four minutes before the off) the greenup was a small loss of .63 and i was holding on to see if it would go back into the green, but of course, due to the suspension, i couldn't do anything and eventually the horse placed 3rd...... . The reason Betfair gave was that the market was suspended due to 'technical issues' but because of this i was prevented from greening out (with either a small profit or loss) After contacting Betfair, they told me unapologetically that i had lost the £50 stake and the race was settled correctly....?
Has that happened to anyone else on this forum before? Is there any recourse? It seems a but arbitrary and unfair, if i had been using £500 stakes it would have representing a painful hit (£50 was bad enough..) Is there anything you can do if you find yourself in this predicament?
suspending a race before the off - not able to continue trad
It's happened a lot unfortunately, have a read of this thread: -

There isn't a great deal you can do.

Sorry about the loss, welcome to the world of sh!t service from Betfair. This is a common occurrence when they have a system failure, they call it "reasons beyond their control" and there is no recourse.
Have a look at the Betfair crash thread

Thanks JollyG - do you think Betdaq is a viable alternative? 'BUF,s attitude just seems a bit counter productive and arrogant to me. I get really wound up when someone on the BUF helpdesk vitually tells me to go away and read the rules..... Brilliant.... what a wunch of bankers, but then again, maybe it's a case of not complaining about oxygern when there's only air to breathe.. Thanks anyway.
