Let's face it this horse cannot be opposed over 2m but will he be able to perform to the same level over 2m 4f?

I read with interest the comments from his breeders who said Nicky Henderson was mental to restrict Sprinter Sacre to 2m races only!

Well today he is stepping up in trip and he takes on both Flemenstar and Cue Card who are both very useful over this trip. The latter in particular seems to have finally found his trip after a few disappointments.

You may think I am   but we may see a tight race here and we must remember Sprinter Sacre didn't stay this trip over hurdles. That means either the breeders or the trainer are correct so it should be interesting. When you watch this horse race it is obvious he likes to get on with it and he has a high cruising speed. If there is a weakness in his stamina then perhaps Cue Card is the one to exploit it - he loves to bowl along which could make for a battle.

Flemenstar is talented but I have to worry about him on the going and he would be a win and place lay for me. He seems to prefer soft ground IMHO so I can see him struggling to go with the other two speed balls.

I think Cue Card will probably take it up from the front and try to test the stamina of Sprinter Sacre to see if there are any weaknesses. The only concern would be if Sprinter Sacre and Cue Card go mental and cut each others throats as maybe that would allow Flemenstar to sit in behind and try to come through at the end.

It will be an exciting race and I cannot wait to see it.

I had two orders placed at 1.76 and 2.28 ( back side ) on sprinter sacre, neither go matched but it was very close I got the 1.76 matched, that would have been a cracking result for me. No matched NO Profit, No Loss.. :(

Well that was a good race and we must not forget Cue Card ran a blinder. I was slightly surprised to see Flemenstar up with the pace but I knew my win and place lay were nailed on when he did so!

So the breeders were correct this horse will stay beyond 2m and unless the ground comes up heavy he looks unbeatable.

Flemenstar's should also get credit for allowing this horse to run on far from ideal conditions. I suppose they came all this way and so letting him run against the best made sense. This is a horse to take notice of especially when there is soft in the ground and he can use his stamina. I wouldn't be surprised to see him attempt the Gold Cup provided the ground is correct for him.

I enjoyed the race but I must say the C4 team are very disappointing these days. The previous mob were poor but the recent changes seem to offer nothing worthy of note. The amount of splinters suffered by Cunningham and McGrath must be amazing - will they ever get off that fence!!
