Hi all,

Do you think there are as many people trade the evening summer races and what is the liquidity like compared to the days?

The reason I ask is I didn't trade last summer and going back through some back data I have there seems to be a difference in my results from the winter/spring period?

Could anyone please help with this?

Regards

Evening summer racing is hit and miss
My intentions are always to avoid it, as I have usually had enough by tea time. Hoever it usually depends on what meetings are on.
If there are 2 meetings in UK and an Irish, there is enough to keep you entertained usually. Especially if it's Newmarket or somewhere decent.

The poor meetings like 2 jumps cards where there are 50 runners over 12 races are a waste of time. Also when they put on shows like the winning post on sky sports for some reason it improves. Which is a mystery as if you have sky sports you also have ATR.

The races where the evening and daytime overlap are ok. It also depends on your style of trading. I think the evening races trade differently. Maybe because many of the pros trading have gone to the pub by then (yeah right, more likely preparing for the next days racing).
Another consideration is other sporting events. If a football match is on sky people tend to dabble on racing at the same time.

It's a suck it and see how you get on. Whatever way you trade it, my advice is to calm down with staking. getting large volumes matched quickly can be an issue, this can lead to bigger losses than you would expect.

Mugs - what is ATR - is it to do with getting the racing. The reason I ask is I am trying to figure out the best way I can get live racing into my place without such a delay. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you should mow the grass and let the Mrs trade :)

Go on Rog ! A mate of mine once who worked in William Hill didnt know what it meant on the Racingpost site, I remember going through the cards with him and he pointed out the next race was an 'all terrain race' - ATR

Thanks for the replies guys and mugsgame glad yo could point things out for me,

Anyone struggle with the trednd today or just me?
