I was running live and then closed down BA. When I logged in in practice mode a minute later I received a warning that there were two instances of BA running.
I checked in task manager and there was no other instances. I closed and tried again several times - same message. I cleared cache, cookies etc - same problem.
I eventually closed down the computer and started again - fine then.
Does BA need an elapsed time before logging out and logging in again? Never happened before hence my question.

It will only show this message if it detects another instance of the executable running.

You must have missed it or Windows was so shot to peices that it wasn't displaying all available processes.

Restarting your computer is always the best action as a failure to close an application correctly could indicate that Windows is beginning to behave in an unpredicatable way.

Thanks for reply. My Windows installation is certainly not shot to pieces!
I did hunt for the executable but it didn't show up anywhere.

I get this sometimes.

When you open Windows Task Manager look under the tab 'processes' and not 'applications'

It's usually lurking away in there
