Hi,

Just read this on one of the Bet Angel pages:

"We have been made aware by Betfair that heavy use of Practice Mode may place your Betfair account at risk of suspension.

Normal use should not cause any problems but continued and ongoing use of practice mode will cause your account to fit into what Betfair call a 'commercial use profile'. I.e. lots of data being pulled from them without any betting activity".

My question is : What is deemed as "normal" use?

Thanks

Practice mode was designed to help you learn how to use the software allowing you to try all the features without risking any money. Don't use it to stress test a strategy over the course of a few weeks by placing thousands of simulated bets.

The problem is some third party sites used to consume lots of Betfair data to publish price comparisons and so on.

This affected the performance of the Betfair data feed for the regular punter who actually wanted to place a bet.

So now any account that draws lots of data from Betfair without placing any real bets will attract attention.

With regard to knowing what the threshold is then you will never find out. If Betfair release this information then unscrupulous users will take advantage of it.

I would recommend you place a real bet at least once a week and more often if possible but without knowing what the threshold is I cannot be certain at what level you will be cut off.

Or Deposit serious funds at least once a week, and use reasonable trading stakes, ie if you put in £20,0000 on a odds on favourite to gain £200 a tick
