Hi all,

I am new to Bet Angel and trying to use Excel to collect data so that i can test my system.

I'm using i-XL's 'BetAngel_Record_datav2' spreadsheet, which i have to say is brilliant, thank you.

I've got a problem with it that throughout the day the prices change of runners in say a horse race. The order of the runners changes so the data sheet picks up a different runner as the main sheet order of runners has changed.

It happens on the normal Betfair website when the race is closer to the start, the order of runners changes to reflect the newer prices.

Can i make Bet Angel not do this? I've tried clicking on the horse draw number to sort by this column but the main front Bet Angel sheet changes still.

Many thanks for any help

Instead of making a new thread I thought I would bump this...

Having the same problem with horses changing positions in the spreadsheet, anyway to stop this?

This was one of the issues that caught me initially when I attempted to create my own data capture spreadsheet.

Here's a workaround:
Write a macro to copy and paste the runner names in separate cells when you first connect the BA multiple spreadsheet with Guardian.
After that, use the INDEX and MATCH commands to match each runner name with its price and volume data from the original cells.
Then run your data capture macro as usual.

The reason for using INDEX and MATCH is so that if there's a non-runner then the data for this runner will be blank (or "N/A") while the data capture for all other runners remains intact without any overlap/overwrite.

I've attached a screenshot from my spreadsheet.

I have also just realised that my data collection sheets are virtually useless as the order of runners appears to change right upto the race off. Today I saw to my horror the favourite and 2nd, Luckey Luke and Furius change positions every few seconds at least 4 times about 15 mins before the off.

I think I will have to go the way that switesh suggests, though I think the same principal but simply using vertical lookup would be simpler than index and match commands wouldn't it?

Does anyone know if Betfair apply any rules to their changing of the order? I am sure it does not happen 5 mins from the off when two joint favourites alternately become the lowest price. I like to record for 20 mins and base triggers on the info, is there a time when Betfair commit not to change the order?

The order of runners is changed arbitrarily by Betfair, no hard and fast rules.
