Hello experts,
I didn't find a better forum to post, so I use this one. First of all, I really do want to make only legal moves in whatever I plan.
In 2012 I burned some training-money on betfair and as the signals went green and I began earning some small money, the German legislation made a law which betfair causes to retire from this market.
Puuuuh, WTF was only one of my thoughts I had...
There are many offerings in the market (e. g. using an austrian account provided by friends, usind addres-services to proove an address within the UK, ...). But I wonder if there would not be any legal construction.
What if I found a company in the UK with one or two real employees? The purpose of the company is betting on horse-racing and soccer/football. Would this be acceptable for betfair? I know this means spending some money, but this could be arranged.
Or does anyone have another LEGAL (!) suggestion how a German could take part in betting exchange?
Kind regards from Cologne / Germany
Chris

Guten Tag
Well for "legal" reasons I am not going to discuss any alleged activity I may or may not have performed in this area
The law is probably one solely devised by your government in relation to activity between Betfair and citizens of your country. I know Betfair have their faults but I doubt even they would turn away business from German clients. I refer you to a similar situation in Spain.
I know that under common EU Law and the freedom of movement for citizens within the EU you are perfectly entitled to open a UK bank account whilst staying with a "friend" in the UK and then funding a Betfair account. If you happen to return to Germany for a "family visit" you could always use a VPS based in the UK.

Hello Jolly,
unfortunally, BF cares about the main data of my account: German.
They do not care about where I roam. I tried this by betting from Switzerland, Austria and the UK: They don't allow due to my main data says that I'm a German.
In the UK there is no registration office so it is more difficult to proove that I really live there. BF want to see an invoice from the electrical supplier, the water supplier or a bank account. Opening a bank account won't be that easy I believe. This could only work with a address which "works" when sending post to it. Banks normally send at least once a year a statement by conventional post. Or do you have any other suggestion(s), maybe using my [email protected] address?
Kind regards any many thanks for any help; deep in my heart I don't accept this lockout only due to the fact that I am a German...
