i noticed a couple of times this week it hasnt always been on the favourite, a little perculiar, in that graph there peter i seem to remember the market tried rather hard to correct itself initially although some kind of automation repeatedly fired in more money again and again.... seemed like someone was taking a massive risk as money scrambled to get out before post time on the opposite side of the book. Can't recognise a pattern to make the most of it just yet myself.

Somebody on another thread suggesting it may be something to do with XM, could Betfair have tweaked this and the result is this new effect?

Again in the 14:10 Ripon, 10 seconds before the off. £5000 layed off.

Yes, nothing for a few races then back at Ripon. It's always £5000 lay (pretty much exactly) and 15 seconds before the off.

What do you recon one at Statford? Weak market that's moving in.

There was a sizable lay just before the off, but the market was a bit too strong for it to take real effect.

Rather appropiately he was back again on 'whats happening' in the 15:55 at Limerick.

And again in the 3:55 Beg Chs at Limerick.

I'm havin a bit of hard time today, the markets I expect to see him do his thing he doesn't show up. When he does show up I jump on it a little too late (i.e. only after I see the spike), which doesn't work too well.

Noticed around 10-15 secs pre-off.

If you can't catch the initial spike, have a think about catching the retracement back?

I haven't anaylsed him enough to know his full characteristics. But if people can post up on this thread when the spot it, I will dig deeper into the data.

seems to only operate in specific circumstances. Fairly easy to predict when he's likely to jump in. Funny to see traders trying to jump on when he isn;t coming.....price gets smashed back fairly quickly when that happens!

I didn't think its that new. I thought this sort of thing has been going on for a long time, even last year when I was playing around with my 35K betting bank, and I blame this sort of thing for a lot of my losses.

I thought it was a price manipulation technique designed to fleece people...the maniplator bets a sum just big enough to start a move and cause a panic drift (bots chasing, people panic), he waits until there's a big spike, then he takes a bigger back bet (perhaps using BetDaq exchange as well) ...the price crashes back...viola...hes fleeced folks out of their money.

I hope you guys punish this arsehole very severely.
