Bank about £30.
£20 backed on Bousatet at 4.2. Lay was waiting for 4.1
Of course, price went up. Get Out Get out said logic - Go in play wheedled Gollum. So pressed keep all. There was a lot of bother loading the horses, and the price went from 4.4 to 5 and back again.
Ok, after 2 years or so I still can't stop myself going in-play, usually with bad consequences. Anyway, Bousatet took a flier and greened up very quickly, £3.78 return on Boutaset, about £1.06 on the rest. decided not to green further, as at least not a red.
Guardian booted up next race, so I watched Boutaset win. Waited for bank to increase, but it didn't. Checked to see if still in-play, but wasn't.
Betfair had 27245590513 matched at 2.78 back at 15.09.
No mention of 27245591605. It said I had lost £24.88!
There was a rule 4 - but I thought that applied to winnings. Strong smell of ordure.
Have sent an email to Betfair.
fat fingering again?

The rule 4 isn't applied to in running bets and there wasn't time for them to remove the non runner pre off to apply the reduction.
So the odds on your original back were reduced when they applied the R4 but the full in running lay bet stood as it was submitted/greened based on the higher back bet winnings.

Bookmakers don't allow you to bet in running though, do they?
Not much Betfair can do about it other than remove non-runners asap and apply the R4. On this occasion they had plenty of time too but I guess they don't want to suspend that close to the off as they'd miss out on taking bets for a few seconds
