If you want to reduce your chance of anything going wrong, transfer most of your balance to your australian wallet then you effectively set a maximum loss on your main account.

Indeed! :o What I think happened was I got stung by a fat finger which triggered a lay bet a high odds and then the horse went on and won :( .

Still can't see the image of my p&L that I thought I had added to the post

In the practice mode i ran "fat finger" rule, that was triggerd 10h before the race. A few times the lay bet got matched at very high odds like 720..so in live mode my betting bank would vanish.

If the market isn't fully formed then it's best not to participate in it. 10 hours out is a massive stretch.

What's the best time before the start of the horse race, to run "fat finger" automation rule?

In a competitive market you have to earn your right to make decent sums of money, so nobody will just give you their settings. You have to experiment and find the best settings and perhaps a new angle on things to find a niche in the market.

Experiment and play with a generic strategy, keep decent records and evolve your settings from there.

Good advice.
