Unattended running with 2 machines in operation
I've developed an automated spreadsheet that I'd like to run throughout today's (Friday's) horseracing. Only trouble is I'm off to Yorkshire before the start of evening racing. Ideally I'd like to leave my spreadsheet running on my desktop to handle the evening racing and then set up my laptop to deal with the racing on Saturday. Will this cause any problems either with BetAngel or Betfair? I'm assuming that once Friday's racing is completed on my desktop there will be no races to cycle through and hence no call on Betfair - thus avoiding any charges through multiple instances of BetAngel running. But how will BetAngel react to running on two different machines? Will the desktop logout eventually after a period of inactivity? Thanks for any help/advice.
Hi
No this isn't a good idea.
Even after the racing is finished the local instance on your PC will still be making data calls, just because there are no races left in Guardian, it doesnt mean the call req will drop to zero
Ideally you could use a VPS, or a product like gotomyPC so you can access your PC remotely (Id recommend the VPS if you are able)

For me the VPS is much more accessible and has faster connection to the Betfair servers (ie 15 - 30 ms typical).
I was out on the road for a good ten hours yesterday. I set everything up before I left and just connected via my Ipad through the day, very convenient!
Good Luck!
