Also you spend such a lot of time in a heightened emotional state when trading/learning this stuff, I know at least I do and I'm working on relaxing while I trade because it shows in the results when I'm worked up. But mental work like that can be just as draining as physical work!

@Redtra we will see one way or another! Gambles feel more prominent in the evening to me and if you can spot the runner that will drift against a steamer or two that's where my better results come from.

Turnover may be down 30% but I prefer the evening. It feels more honest and moves more natural but I don't have enough experience yet to fully explain why I feel that way!

I noticed that yesterday L.o.S, there were some big moves in the evening races and i caught some...but on the wrong side of some aswell! It seems harder to decide which races to trade for some reason. Do you trade them all or are you selective and only trade a few during the evening?

I try to get involved in everything at the moment, and see what works and what doesn't! It's frustrating in some manners, for example I'm particularly poor at scalping and when I have losing or break-even days it can normally be traced back to poor scalping costing my swing trading profits. But in a sense, I need to make those losses so I can try to learn from them.

So really I just go for it and see what happens, starting to get a feel for what I should be doing but very much 2 steps forward, 1.5 back.

For that reason in your position I'd probably keep trading the both afternoon and evening but just be more cautious in the evening, as I am during the day and see if you can pin down what changes!

We'll make it yet :D

Much like myself L.o.s, trading everything but looking for what works and what doesn't. Good point about carrying on since it is all learning. Yes i agree...we will make it :D and after all this effort, I can't wait!

All that being said I'm having a stinker of a day so far! Trying to run profits too much and been experiencing longer and longer losing runs recently, I still haven't figured out what is causing it, my old P&L's have plenty of inbetween profits and losses and then some more standalone figures but this months the average has been like, lost on 15 races won on 5. Complete reverse of before! It'll be worth it in the end, once I get out this rut!

Today is a poor card and it's trading badly as well. Other than that, it's great!

I don't use automated but I'm considering even removing my manual stop losses and just taking a big loss when I've genuinely got it wrong, because I think that would cost less than these constant losing sequences. When I cut I'm doing it to prevent losses but the real effect at the end of the day is that it's banking them. Possibly switching back to practice mode for a day or two as well to see how to correct this form of late.

I agree about it being poor, inevitable today really though I suppose.

I'm only doing it as its pretty cloudy down here today and next week looks like being a real scorcher again, could get to over 30 for a few days apparantly :D Don't want to be trading in that!

Don't seem to have the confidence to oppose runners that are coming in at the moment, I got matched at 2 as well but scratched and backed at 2.16 out at 2.24 instead. I couldn't see anything else being backed so didn't see why it wouldn't just shoot through 2.

Betfair are very late turning markets inplay today, doesn't feel right. I've raised the issue with Betfair.

Definitely something wrong. They are also taking for ever to settle matched bets.

and the markets are trading really nicely. Would't surprise me if some of their bots/liquidity vampire sucking systems aren;t working. Feels like markets from a couple of years ago!
