betangel with vpn

We were all new to Bet Angel once. Ask any question you like here and fellow forum members promise not to laugh. Betfair trading made simple.

hi, i live some months of the year in Spain, and i need to connect to betair and others with a vpn ( proxy), so if i do it , can i use betangel´s program without any problem?. Thank you.

Yo soy Eduardo, ahora estoy en España y utilizo una VPN, IpVanish, no he tenido ningún problema, te adjunto un pantallazo.

Si quieres comentar alguna cosa más aquí estoy en Madrid.

Hola Eduardo,

Tengo un problema con Bet Angel, que no me deja hacer apuestas. Yo también utilizo un VPN, en realidad tengo dos, HotSpot Shield y Golden Frog, los dos tienen servidores en UK.
Cuando me conecto por VPN, no tengo problemas en acceder a betfair.es ni betfair.com, mi problema aparece cuando voy a colocar una apuesta en Bet Angel, me extraña que a ti te sirve y a mí no, me salta el siguiente mensaje: ´´Bet origin from a country on a restricted event´´.
Me he puesto en contacto con el soporte técnico de Bet Angel, y me ha dicho lo siguiente:
You can place bets using the website but not when using our software. This is because our software connects to Betfair using their API connection as we are obliged to do. It doesn't use their website to connect as you can.
I have to point out that betting from Spain via the API is restricted. You are using a remote service that gives you the appearance of being in UK even though you are not. As Bet Angel uses the API you will not be able to place bets using the software.
Lo he intentado con diferente VPNs y no le he logrado. Si pudieras echarme una mano te lo agradecería.

I'm moving to France soon and will have the same problem. From what I've read, I understand that I can still use BetAngel via a VPN, but not place bets.

So, I'll need to switch to a browser and add the bets through the Betfair site (while using the same VPN obviously).

Was so annoyed when I read Betfair pulled out of France over some nonsense law France has installed.

If you retain a UK address you can bet from the UK using a VPN or VPS (VPS is quicker). But betting from France will be a problem if you are resident there and attempt to register and bet from a French address.

Cool, I'll keep my current credit, I'll just change the address to my parents' and change my IP to a UK one.
