opening workbook in excel

Hi All
I am having trouble opening a workbook in excel, each time I click on open workbook a dialog box comes up saying : unable to open workbook- exception from HRESULT : 0x800ac472
I take this to mean that excel carn`t read the workbook, but what should I do??

This error usually means your local installation of Excel cannot be found or has a problem.

Bet Angel requires a full local copy of Excel 2003 or later to be installed. Cloud or virtual licences of Excel are not compatible. Neither is OpenOffice.

If you have got Excel installed then re-installing it should help. Also re-install .NETv2 if you have Windows XP and check for any Windows updates.

Thank for your answer, I do have excel open office, and an old excel 2003, so I just switched to the old 2003 and troubleshoot both excel and bet angel compatibility to sink them both, it worked first time.
