Betfair - Receive Marketing Emails Again

I've seen it mentioned a few times that people are not receiving marketing emails from Betfair; despite their communication preferences stating otherwise. I too had this issue quite a while back, but managed to fix it myself. Whilst I can't remember exactly the exact process which I used to trick their systems into reactivating my marketing emails, it went something along the lines of the following:

• Opt-out of the marketing communications.
• Change your registered email address (if you have a Gmail account, you can receive emails at both <username>@googlemail.com and <username>@gmail.com, so this is the easiest solution). Thinking in terms of how systems are developed, it's probably best to pick an email address which their systems have never seen before, to reduce the chance of failure.
• Opt back in to the marketing communications.

I think (but can't be sure) that I also managed to revert back to my original email address once I confirmed that it was all working and I was receiving emails again.

As it was a while back that I performed this process, it's possible (although unlikely IMO) that this solution (or a variation of it) will no longer work. It's probably best that some others with the issue try the above method (or a variation), and hopefully between us we can figure out an appropriate process to solve this issue.

EDIT:

Just noticed that their marketing preferences system (here) has been updated significantly since I made the changes to my account. I still think it's possible to "trick" their system... Maybe by trying a process similar to the following:

• Under Sports (and any other products which you want to fix), deselect all check-boxes, and change the radio button to an option which you wouldn't want (I don't see the point of this feature - it somewhat duplicates the checkboxes!). Also, mine states "Calls only", but I receive the emails! Save your changes.
• Change your registered email address.
• Under Sports, etc. check the options which you wish to apply. Change the radio to that which you wish to apply.
• Wait. Patiently.
