Pre Match vs In Play Markets

Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

I'm kind of interested in what proportion the football traders on here profit from pre match moves compared to in play markets?

I'd say 20% of my profit is from pre match and the rest betting/trading in play. Feel like I need to be spending more time on my pre match profits.

haha. looks like nobody wants to share. i rarely go for inplay markets. i just place my bet on a team after i do some research then i'd go sit and watch. in bet on penalty shootouts sometimes as i could see the goalie's form during the game. :P

Just down to personal preference I would have thought.

Before the off margins are very low and it takes ages to fill. In play your results will be highly variable but the average return on a strategy is generally +ve. By that I mean if you follow some sensible rationale you will get a lot of wins. But you will get big wins and losses, even if you try and hedge.

27% of all money on footy is before the off, so you can see the majority is traded in-play.

Chaps - looking for some advice.

I generally trade football in play managing my bank at all times), however, any attempt at pre-match I just make a complete hash of it! I have looked at not getting involved until team announcements, however, the market reacts prior to team line ups being announced on the web. How do can moves be predicted?

Any kind of assistance/pointers/advice would be greatly received.

Thanks in advance.
