Just a quick note to be careful when looking at the York markets today. There has been a lot of withdrawals already and I am sure more to come.

This could mean a diluted flow of money into the market as punters wait to see if their selection will run. It could also mean late withdrawals or strange and sudden drifts as horses canter to the start. If the oncourse players decide a horse is not handling the new ground they may start laying it.

I did some study of the bigger races today but the non-runners mean there is a change to the profile of the market.

I was looking at 2 or possibly 3 horses to oppose today. I feel sure we would've had a decent drift and found them struggling in the new going. Unfortunately they were all declared as non-runners!
