Welcome to my world mate, I am spinning most days!dmbusa wrote:Think I will be giving the racing a miss today as I can't stop the room from spinning
I have had a brilliant start with just one losing market. I rarely trade a Saturday but was looking at the lay all stuff so decided to have a go.
Just a heads up. There have been some good drifters but I have noticed a lot of money appearing at the top of the price range which spikes the price temporarily in by 4-5 ticks. You'll know the top of the range because it tends to reach it and then go sideways. If you've missed the trend you may find an order placed 4 ticks below the high can get a match from the spike which puts you in a decent position. You should get time to assess if the drift will resume or you should exit as it looks likely the price is shrinking!
My head's spinning after this day! Almost as bad as a bank holiday at times!JollyGreen wrote:Welcome to my world mate, I am spinning most days!dmbusa wrote:Think I will be giving the racing a miss today as I can't stop the room from spinning
I think today would have been a decent day for the experienced traders. Myself, I tilted when my profits were wiped out by erratic markets at the end of the afternoon.
The trick is to be OK with not following your normal trading technique and diverting accordingly when the markets behave erratically. IMO there were enough reoccurring patterns to see how the markets were being manipulated but I was too angry to see them.
For me, I am gonna have a beer, take it on the chin and analyse what went wrong on Monday.

The favorite from last one at Stratford was so heavily backed pre race and inPlay that I thought the horse has 8 legs or smth and placed a 10 pound bet just for fun. And it lost

Similar to me stevequal except my profits disappeared on thursday. The cause has happened before but i am taking ages not doing one thing...turing the volume off on ATR! One of the presenters said in such an authoritive and convincing way that this favourite will not lose, so i backed it and waited to lay it in running...it was last all the way and came last! From now on, i will have the remote and my finger on the mute button!stevequal wrote:I think today would have been a decent day for the experienced traders. My comments are related to pre-race trading, rather than betting. But I agree with your point above.hi guys I know so little about racing except maybe what is a good race at a good meeting to ever want to listen to ATR..if these guys were really good they would all be pro punters with tipping lines.. at 10.50 per minute
I agree with you Groovy, don't know why i sometimes get taken in by them. They remind me of listening to horoscope and fortune tellers who are also very wise before the event...afterwards they forget all about their failed predictions!Groovyelms wrote: to ever want to listen to ATR..if these guys were really good they would all be pro punters with tipping lines.. at 10.50 per minute
