The vast majority are worthless IMHO.

Generally - with a few exceptions - if someone is doing well on Betfair, you'd expect them to be spending their time making money, not selling their knowledge (and potentially diluting their edge in the process).

I'm not tarring all service providers with the same brush - I'm sure there are some genuine ones out there - but most are rubbish (and I've used a few over the years!).

IMHO, your best bet initially is to let the market be your teacher, and try to pick up tips on this forum and on the internet(although bear in mind that, just because a pro says something is the case, they may be wrong!). Also work on your self-discipline; trading is like dieting - simple but difficult - and the importance of focus and discipline cannot be overstated.

Good luck.

Thanks Jeff,
Sensible comment and about what I thought, especially if they are that capable; not using their time to sell what they know rather than using it!

What about the services that collate stats and the like. That's an area I've always struggled to keep on top of?

Some people may be able to make them pay, but personally I steer clear.

All the information you need to profit from horse racing is on Bet Angel.

You can research form, jockey success at the track, trainer success at the track, the horse's suitability to the going, etc, etc, etc, but all of that information is reflected in the price. The market knows more than you and I. :)

Yeah, the discipline part is where I've always fallen down, just no discipline to my trading *sigh*.

Was browsing the web and I may have found 'the secret' here, its a video clip which is supposed to be a visualization aid to riches. Presumably if we all watch, this will give us all the inspiration to be rich ;)
