Hi, just subscribed to bet angel, very new to betting, so I'm not making an ass of myself by asking

what are the advantages of Greening-Up ? also

So I have successfully scalped, in the (Trade Profit) column it reads X amount, is this cash like a free bet ?

finding bet angel incredible, intentions are to get very familiar with software then next step is some kind of software to help horse analysis, to this end looking at proform, but there a few on-line, any pointers would be very much appreciated.

Thanx guys :D

The idea behind greening up is to ensure a guaranteed profit no matter the result of the event.

If you scalp a price using even stakes i.e. £10 then you will create a profit on that horse/team only. Therefore you can only realise a profit if that horse/team wins.

To ensure a profit no matter the result you must green up (hedge) the amount into the market. So you offer a lay amount to the market based on the stake and the price. If we assume a price of 2.0 and a profit of £5 then you lay £2.50 at 2.0 which means £2.50 on every outcome. Now Bet Angel will do this automatically for you so need to work out the amounts.

Hi Magician777

Best thing to do is read all the forum posts relating to new traders. Also, have a look on you tube for trading vids. Betfair have some good vids and of course Bet Angel has an excellent collection of vids.

Here are a couple of threads to get you started, they have plenty of links in them.

Don't rush into using real money until you understand what trading is all about, than use minimum stakes.

Greening up is when the profit is distributed between all horses (on the horse racing markets) so whichever wins is a profit.
