hi everyone i could do with a little help off someone more experienced than me.
i have been testing a dobbing system on paper for a while now but i am having trouble with the laying off part when it comes to automating it on here

my back bets go on as expected but when i set the trigger to take half the backed odds in running it sometimes doesn't fire, yesterday for example i had 2 which went well under the required odds in running yet no bets were matched (and i'm pretty sure not even placed). yet i have seen it fire before and take bets???

basically after a £2 bet before the race
i have it set to green all selections (with condition of a £2 profit)
to start arming at 1 second after the race has gone in play to up to 10 mins!

a, from what i am getting the trigger only tries to fire when the required odds have been reached, and its something to do with timing my bet being missed as it maybe only went down bellow a certain price for a fraction of a second?

and
b, is there a way i could get automation to stick my lay bet on as soon as the back bet has been taken so it can be sat nearer the front of the queue as soon as the event goes in running??

i am probably missing something quite obvious but i'm pretty new to the thing and am learning as i go

any help of you lot would be massively appreciated

thanks :D

It sounds like you want to place a back bet with offset and greening, so back at 10.0 for £2 and then green at 5.0 giving you a £2 profit?

If so when are you placing the back bet, before the event or during?

yeah that's kind of what i'm trying to achieve but the only thing is with using automation and setting it up in the morning or maybe the night before i don't know what odds i am going to get on the back bet.

in an ideal worlds i would like my back bet to be taken 30 secs before the planned off time lets say £2 @ 6.2 then the software to work it straight out and place me a lay bet for £4 @ 3.1 to keep in running so it is all ready and waiting at the front of the queue for if and when the odds go down low enough in running.

problem from what i can gather is that when my back bet is taken i can only get a trigger that tries to put my lay bet on when the odds are actually reached in running, and maybe with a delay by the time the bet is placed the odds have already gone back above the required lay price probably never to go back down therefore missing out on my bet being taken at all??

Yes you are right thats the hard bit, you can only tell betangel the amount of ticks to offset the bet and not the profit you want.

So you would have an automation to back at best price and then offset:? ticks with greening and then another bit of automation to keep the lay bet so that it gets taken in-play. But you don't know the amount of ticks until you know the back price you are going to take.

But you can do this via Excel easily, do you have any experience with excel? If I get bored of revision later I can make a sheet that will do this for you.

cheers no i don't have any experience on excel and it sounds scary to me if i'm going to be honest.... haha!
that is the problem though because say a 30 tick difference mite be a completely different story between 2 different prices.

if you d get time maybe not even today it would be great and i would try get my head round it.

thanks again

I think i mite have got to the bottom of the problem, i was setting the green up profit to equal £2 and i'm guessing at certain prices with the odds changing in .2, .1, 0.5 increments etc there mite not be a lay price that gives you an exact £2 profit so it never fired the trigger?? i have changed it to give me a profit of greater than £2 and its laying my bets off for me. sometimes it lays it at way lower than required so i'm guessing thats still a timing/delay issue. is there a way of speeding things up so my triggers fire instantly almost?
