Bags under my eyes
I've told this story before, but 3 years ago I had money in the outright markets. The tournament was due to start at midnight, so to gear myself up for a long night I popped for a quick pint in the Pitcher & Piano - Ocean Village. I got chatting to a cracking bit of skirt in there....she was seriously hot! After an hour, I'm looking at my watch, thinking I better check on these markets. She either thought I was bored, or was keen to get her home, so she went for it....we had a kiss.....she whispers "do you have any condoms?" - I had to be honest with her, I was more interested in laying Andrea Petkovic because she was carrying an injury!
I bumped into her 6 weeks later and decided to have another crack, but she totally ignored me!
Life as a trader, is life itself...you need to take opportunities when they present themselves!

XM destroyed an aspect of Aussie Open trading, because 'in play' you'd often see some unbelievable dutching opportunities - it wasn't unusual to see 109% on offer for at least 10 seconds
Unfortunately, BF decided to mop up that money for themselves and it killed it

Hi Guys, I'm back again for the Grand Slams and have something interesting for you to note, Nadal is quoted as saying the court speed had changed significantly.
"Faster conditions that I ever played here in Australia," the Spaniard said.
"I really don't understand very well why they change because the last couple of years, Australian Open had amazing matches, long ones, good ones for the crowd.
"I don't know why the people who decide to make the conditions that fast."
Can't wait for tonight's action to start

Just been looking at the weather for Melbourne and its a heatwave
Mon35°C
Tue41°C
Wed39°C
Thur41°C
Fri40°C
Now the hottest Australian Open was in 2009 when the average daily temperature was 34.7 Celsius, Djokovic (who was defending champion at the time) amongst others had to retire from his 1/4 final with heat exhaustion.
Now this is something to bare in mind as a retirement can kill a tennis trader and if your unlucky enough to catch two or three in one day then that's a good chunk of your bank gone.
Normal weather is expected to resume on Saturday.

This could be a very significant factor. Will the faster "conditions" mean the courts play more like a US Open? Does this benefit a Federer / Murray / Tsonga type player and let's not forget a big server like Cilic.Redhead wrote:something interesting for you to note, Nadal is quoted as saying the court speed had changed significantly.

Any thoughts?
I like the odds for Murray, at 14-1, I think he's value. Murray's skill is now the equal of both Rafa and Djok, the only reason he's so long in the betting is because people have doubts over his form after his long break away following his back operation.
What people forget is that Murray has always done very well at the Aussie Open and it only takes a few good hard games to get back to something approaching reasonable match fitness. If Murray gets through the first few rounds OK, I think his price will contract significantly, down to 7-1 or less.
Murray's great value, get on him !

After watching last nights action, I think Nadal's just having a moan, there quick but there not lightening fast like in Brisbane a couple of weeks ago, and I don't think they'll play as fast as Flushing Meadows. Federer, Murray & Tsonga seem to like Melbourne Park and should all feature in week 2. Cilic did'nt impress me last week in Sydney and I'd give him the swerve.NileVentures wrote:This could be a very significant factor.
